Digital biomarkers in hematology
Cancilico runs collaborative projects with pharmaceutical companies and academic groups, with a particular focus on the development and validation of digital biomarkers in hematology. We build or fine-tune state-of-the-art AI models to each scientific question rather than applying off-the-shelf solutions.
Our advantage
A proprietary multimodal dataset
Our core advantage is a proprietary dataset spanning the full spectrum of hematological tissue:
- Bone marrow aspirate smears
- Bone marrow trephine histology
- A large collection of lymphatic tissue specimens
This image corpus is paired with rich clinical annotations and structured metadata, including outcome and multiomics data, enabling integrative analyses that go well beyond morphology alone.
From model to bedside
Smooth deployment into the clinic
We bridge the gap between validated research and routine care. Building on our software platform, we guide a new biomarker or decision-support tool through the regulatory and clinical integration steps required to bring it safely into everyday practice and reach relevant patients.
Four areas of collaboration
Predictive disease and subgroup modeling
Image-based prediction of disease entities and of molecularly or otherwise defined patient subgroups, to support faster diagnosis and patient stratification.
Therapy response biomarkers
Identification and validation of digital biomarkers that predict response to specific therapies, giving partners image-derived endpoints for clinical development and companion diagnostic strategies.
Translational research on mechanisms of action
Projects that link morphological and molecular signatures to biological mechanisms, connecting preclinical insight with clinical application.
Deployment in clinical trials
Support across the trial lifecycle: defining the eligible patient population, central review of findings at inclusion, and standardized assessment of response and primary endpoints. Using the models in early-phase studies informs later trial design and helps position drugs across therapy lines and patient cohorts.
