AI for Cancer Diagnostics

(Senior) Sales Manager – Hospital & Lab Diagnostics (m/f/d)

Full time · 40h · Dresden (hybrid) · remote within Germany possible · €75,000–95,000 + variable

Why this role exists

Cancilico is a Dresden-based, seed-funded health-tech company, spun out of TU Dresden and University Hospital Dresden. Our first product, MyeloAID, uses AI to automate the morphological differentiation of bone marrow smears. This work is still done manually, cell by cell, under a microscope.

Bone marrow labs are already evaluating MyeloAID on their own slides. The next step is converting those pilots into licences without relying on a founder to drive every deal. Sales has been founder-led so far. You’ll own recurring licence revenue and establish a process we can repeat.

What you’ll do

  • Own the sales cycle and recurring-revenue target, from first contact through demos, pilots, negotiation, and contract. Convert our current pilots while building the pipeline discipline, forecasting, pricing, and packaging needed to repeat the process.
  • Navigate hospital buying processes in DACH and markets where we already have pilots or interest, including the US and Australia. Lab and hematology leaders decide; medical technical assistants or clinical biologists use the product; IT, data protection, and procurement can each block a deal.
  • Sell MyeloAID within its current research-use-only (RUO) status while we work toward IVDR and FDA clearance. It is not for use in diagnostic procedures, and you’ll need to explain its value without overstating what customers can do with it today.
  • Bring customer feedback into product and AI decisions. You’ll know why labs say no and make sure the company acts on it.
  • Support paid research collaborations with pharma companies alongside our medical and scientific team. They lead these partnerships; you’ll help commercialise them.

What we’re looking for

Must have

  • You’ve closed complex B2B sales into hospitals, labs, pathology, or diagnostics, including deals with an evaluation or pilot.
  • You know how to keep a long, multi-stakeholder sale moving and recognise when a pilot is stalling.
  • Fluent German and English.
  • You can explain what an AI model does and doesn’t do, and sell an RUO product without overstating its use. When you don’t know an answer, you find out instead of bluffing.
  • Willingness to build the basics yourself. Pipeline documentation and hygiene, outreach, materials, and forecasting: there’s no sales ops function behind you yet.

Nice to have

  • Background in hematology, pathology, laboratory diagnostics, or digital pathology / whole-slide imaging.
  • Experience building a value case without a reimbursement code, or navigating public procurement.
  • Experience selling into hospital markets outside the EU, and the patience their approval paths require.
  • Experience with SaaS deployments inside conservative hospital IT.
  • You’ve been the first commercial hire somewhere and know which parts of that are genuinely hard.

You do not need a medical background — but you should care about the people who’ll rely on what you sell.

Our setup

  • Product: MyeloAID for bone marrow smears, with peripheral blood as the next vertical. No one else in the EU is doing AI-driven bone marrow analysis at this depth and has access to such large, diverse datasets annotated by morphology experts.
  • Evidence you can sell with: peer-reviewed work from our own team, including data presented at EHA 2026.

You’ll report to our CEO and work closely with our product and medical team.

What we offer

  • Salary: €75,000–€95,000 base depending on experience and fit, plus a variable component tied to pilot conversion and recurring revenue (OTE roughly €95,000–€120,000).
  • 30 days paid leave, flexible core hours (10:00–15:00).
  • 40-hour weeks.
  • Pick your machine: Mac, Windows, or Ubuntu.
  • Flexible German benefits, negotiable based on your needs.
  • Working language is English. Customer conversations happen in German and English.
  • Hematologists and medical technical assistants are colleagues you can ask before a customer call.
  • Hybrid in Dresden preferred; remote within Germany possible. Expect roughly 30% travel to labs and congresses, some of it international. You’ll need an existing right to work in the EU; we can’t sponsor relocation or visas at this stage.
  • We welcome applications regardless of background, parental status, disability, or neurodivergence.
